Our Vision
Prepare youth in our community to be responsible and participating citizen-leaders guided by the Scout Oath, Law, and Motto.

New Paltz Cub Scout Pack 272 is an inclusive and safe community organization led by parent volunteers. In Scouts, every child and family is welcomed and supported—regardless of gender, race, or faith. Guided by the Scout Oath, Law, and Motto, our families organize events, hikes, bike rides, fundraisers, service projects, and camping adventures that support and strengthen our community.

Our Pack is open to all children in grades K–5. Scouts participate in monthly or bi-weekly “Den” meetings, where smaller age-based groups gather to learn skills, explore the outdoors, and take on fun projects together. Several times a year, we come together as a full “Pack” for larger activities that bring everyone together—like our annual fall Rocket Launch or the winter Pinewood Derby, where scouts design, build, and race their own cars.

Pack 272 is volunteer-led, with parents playing an active role alongside their kids. Families join in at meetings, help run events, and share in the adventure. This spirit of shared leadership strengthens the bonds within our Pack and models the values we hope our scouts will carry with them.

We strive to live by the Scout Law, which reminds us that a scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.
